There is a new gallery in the Okanagan valley. On the 12. Of July 2024 more than a hundred people came to the grand opening on the breathtaking summit of Anarchist Mountain.
It is always a gamble to open a venue like this. This time it paid off and then some. The people were flabbergasted by the beautiful pictures, the stunning marble floor, the incredible ceiling, influenced by the sixteenth chapel in Rome.
Although Christine Krahenbuhl has her own unique style many noticed the influence of Klimt in her portraits. The opening was not just to show the world her art. The room and its many uses are also very important. You can rent the place to make lectures, to show movies or to make or take courses or you just come and paint or create your art in the bright room. There is so much space to let your creativity flow. In future every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday in the afternoons between 1 and 4 pm there will be cookies and coffee, a nice talk, and some art to enjoy.
The visitors of the grand opening last Friday stayed until darkness fell and enjoyed not just the art and the stunning scenery on Anarchist Mountain. The hostess with her charm and her never ending smiles was also a big selling point.
At the end everybody got a warm embrace and picture taken with the beaming artist.
Not to forget, the catering from the women of the local WI club was also delicious and plentiful. The proof of the success can be read in the guestbook pages you will find in the photographs.
All in all, it was a fabulous event that will be the talk of the Kootenay Boundary and far beyond. It is the beginning of a new cultural chapter in these parts without the high nose feeling one sometimes gets from culture. It is here to be enjoyed by everybody and everybody can take part in it. If you love what you do and want to show what you have, you are welcome on Magic Mountain.
